WebbCaptiva Island is noted as one of the very best places in the state of Florida for collecting shells. It is a regular and recurring destination of serious shell collectors. I happened upon Sanibel and Captiva Islands several years ago while visiting Fort Myers during baseball spring training. Some of my favorite shells are from both places.
